Care Food Incubation Scheme - Care Food Banquet

On January 16, we held the first Care Food Banquet at one of our Seed Restaurants – ASAP As Simple As Possible. Around 30 elderly participants and caregivers gathered to enjoy Care Food meals of different levels, and the seniors particularly cherished the experience of sharing these specially prepared meals with their families.

This banquet invited elders and caregivers from the Hong Kong Society for the Aged (HKSAGE) Chan Tseng Hsi Kwai Chung District Elderly Community Centre, HKSAGE Tsuen Wan District Elderly Community Centre, and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Lady MacLehose Centre. During the event, a speech therapist and the Care Food Working Group introduced key information about Care Food and swallowing difficulties, demonstrating testing methods. Participants were highly engaged, and we believe their understanding of Care Food has significantly improved. After the banquet, attendees received Care Food Vouchers to encourage them to purchase these meals independently at partner restaurants.

The Care Food Working Group will continue to expand the Care Food Incubation Scheme, with the hope that more restaurants will offer swallowing-friendly meals in the future. This initiative aims to provide diverse dining options for people with swallowing difficulties, enhancing their quality of life and making "Care Food Around You" a reality across all districts.
