The first <Care Food – Home Edition> Caregiver Seminar of 2025 was successfully held on January 18 😄.
Hosted by Ms. Janet Wong Wing-chen, Editor-in-Chief of <Care Food – Home Edition: A Comprehensive Guide for Caregivers of People with Swallowing Difficulty>, the seminar featured distinguished speakers. We were honored to have Professor Law Thomas Ka-tung, Assistant Professor and Head of Speech Therapy Division at the Chinese University of Hong Kong's Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, who shared practical insights on swallowing difficulties and caregiving tips 👍.
Another highlight was the session by Professor Yu Chun-ho, Emeritus Professor of the Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology at CUHK. He discussed cutting-edge cancer treatments and how integrating faith and calligraphy can help manage illness-related stress. Professor Yu even demonstrated live calligraphy, gifting attendees with the uplifting phrase "Calm as Water, Ever Hopeful" 😊.
The seminar also included a Care Food cooking demonstration, where a Care Food supplier showcased how to prepare reunion dinner dishes suitable for people with swallowing difficulties, enabling families to dine together. Participants actively engaged and exchanged their own Care Food preparation experiences.
We hope this handbook continues to empower caregivers with knowledge, easing their stress while helping them care for both their loved ones and themselves 🥰.
