Yesterday, we successfully held our third Care Food Community Banquet at the seed restaurant "The Leaf Kitchen," where nearly 40 elderly participants and caregivers enjoyed a variety of texture-modified Chinese dishes. Attendees highly praised the chef's culinary skills and dedication in preparing these specialized meals.
This community banquet welcomed seniors and caregivers from the Sik Sik Yuen Jockey Club Ho Wing Neighbourhood Elderly Centre and Christian Family Service Centre True Light Elderly District Centre, along with guests from different districts, to experience dysphagia-friendly Care Food meals. During the event, the Care Food Task Force shared essential information about Care Food and swallowing difficulties, enhancing participants' understanding. At the end of the banquet, we distributed Care Food meal vouchers to encourage attendees to revisit the restaurant and enjoy these meals independently.
The HKCSS Care Food Task Force will continue to promote the Care Food Seed Restaurant Program, hoping to engage more restaurants in offering dysphagia-friendly meals. Our goal is to expand dining options for individuals with swallowing difficulties, improving their quality of life and making "a good meal in every district" a reality.
