[Innovation Platform: Autonomous Space Creation Workshop Successfully Concluded]

The "Social Welfare Organization Innovator Training Program" organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service has been held for four times so far, and has trained 20 social welfare colleagues based on the core values of humanism, original intention, design thinking and co-creation. In order to continue the exchanges and connections between cross-sector innovators, the HKCSS started preparing for the last plan and assisted them in organizing the "Innovation Peer Platform" to establish a cross-sector exchange platform, continue the spirit of innovation and innovation, and work together to promote social initiatives, and even allow everyone to independently plan activities and experiences that are suitable for the needs of social welfare colleagues.

In view of the fact that in their daily work, colleagues hope to improve the experience of service users using the space inside the center, or they want to make good use of the space to provide better services. However, due to resource constraints, we often don’t know where to start to meet the space needs of service users. Therefore, the Organizing Committee of the Creative Innovation Platform specially invited Baak6zou6 to hold two workshops with the theme of "Autonomous Space Creation".

The last workshop was successfully held recently. Through previous interviews with service users, co-workers discovered the key pain points that they may encounter when using services at the center. Then come up with different ideas based on a multi-faceted, user-centered vision; develop ideas in a non-judgmental way during the thinking process, using images to assist in the process. I hope that co-workers can experiment with prototypes in service units, continuously iterate and improve after collecting opinions from real users, and finally develop effective ideas. At the same time, it also brings out that even if renovation is not required, space can be transformed and user experience improved in a low-cost and effective way.

It is hoped that the Innovation and Innovation Platform will continue its spirit of breaking boundaries and innovation, and work together to promote social initiatives.

Therefore, the Organizing Committee of the Creative Innovation Platform specially invited Baak6zou6 to hold two workshops with the theme of "Autonomous Space Creation".

It is hoped that co-workers will learn the principles of space design in community building, share the pain points faced by social welfare units on a daily basis, analyze overseas and local spatial innovation cases, and create ideas, etc., to jointly explore how to use existing resources to practice and utilize space in their own institutions/centers. The first workshop allowed participants to re-examine the user journey (User Journey) after service users enter the space. Some innovators even brought their team colleagues to participate in the workshop, so that everyone could immerse themselves in discussions and think about opportunities to change the space on behalf of service users. We even conduct mock interviews across organizations/teams to break through our own thinking boundaries and stimulate more people’s feelings about different users’ experience of the service.

I look forward to the next workshop, where innovators and colleagues can use interviews with service users to discover the real feelings and needs they face when visiting the organization, and use the low-cost and user-oriented perspective of microcosm. This will give everyone the opportunity to practice prototypes, and we even hope that colleagues can actually bring relevant results back to the organization and give back to service users.

[ Innovation and Innovation Platform— Macau Social Welfare Exchange Group]

The Macau Social Welfare Association (MSA) held the "Innovation Partnership Platform" – Macau Social Welfare Exchange Group – yesterday as part of its Social Welfare Innovators Cultivation Program. The Innovators Cultivation Program brings together a group of social welfare professionals, focusing on "human-centeredness," "original aspirations," "co-creation," and "design thinking," combining cross-disciplinary shadowing internships to explore a new, cross-disciplinary industry. Simultaneously, it provides holistic support for the professional development of its members, addressing their physical, mental, and spiritual needs.

This Macau social welfare exchange delegation led current and past innovators to visit two Macau social welfare institutions: the Macau Fu Hong Society Po Tsui Centre and the Macau Gaming Industry Workers' Home for visits and exchanges. The Macau Fu Hong Society Po Tsui Centre operates as a one-stop vocational rehabilitation center, providing services from factory training and job placement assistance to on-the-job training after employment, catering to the diverse needs of rehabilitation patients. The centre also houses a social enterprise and a social enterprise restaurant. Participants learned about the development and culture of social enterprises in Macau, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face. The innovators also experienced and sampled authentic Portuguese cuisine at the social enterprise restaurant.

In the afternoon, we visited the Macau Gaming Industry Employees' Home, an organization in Macau specifically dedicated to serving the gaming industry and its families, promoting Responsible Gaming (RG). Through sharing from colleagues and frontline gaming workers, we gained a deeper understanding of the hardships within the industry, as well as the development of Macau's gaming industry and the mechanisms for promoting and educating the public about RG. The staff at the Macau Gaming Industry Employees' Home also shared their insights into Macau's social welfare system and outreach services, greatly benefiting the participants.

We thank the Po Tsui Centre of the Macau Fu Hong Society and the Macau Gaming Employees' Home for their hospitality. We hope that the innovators can bring their insights back to the organization and bring a positive impact to the social welfare sector through co-learning and co-creation.

[ Innovation and Innovation Platform - First Member Meeting]

We have so quickly arrived at the final stage of the fourth "Innovator" program. Since 2022, more than a dozen innovators have participated in the program unknowingly. In order to strengthen and continue the exchanges and connections between cross-generational innovators, establish a peer network of mutual help and sharing, and promote cross-sector cooperation and co-creation, the planning team has specially set up a platform to allow innovators to independently plan activities and experiences that meet everyone's needs and suitability.

The planning team recently held its first membership meeting, inviting members of the organizing committee and platform members to gather together to meet and communicate with each other. They also asked everyone to vote on the name of their favorite platform, and finally named it "Platform for Innovation and Innovation" based on the voting results.

In addition to introducing the platform's mission, vision, and future direction, colleagues from the HKCSS-Co-Creation Box were also invited to share tips on writing grant proposals in response to the work needs of innovators. We hope that colleagues can use their creativity and expertise to create projects of different categories.

In addition, the project team will also hold the first overseas exchange event for the platform in July and visit Macau. Therefore, it is also a great honor to invite Professor Ling Haoyun, a practical professor of Baptist University and chief consultant of exchange points. Howard will share with you his many years of experience and opinions on working in the social welfare sector, as well as the culture and development of social enterprises in Hong Kong and Macau. He will also personally send social enterprise gifts as encouragement to the innovators.

Last but not least, of course, we have prepared time for everyone to exchange cards and discuss ideas, which made the evening atmosphere joyful and joyful. I hope this event can enhance communication and understanding among the innovators. Come and experience more activities together!
