"Eat for Happiness" Senior Food Cooking Competition 2021

The Social Enterprise Business Center of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) held the third "Eat for Joy" Senior Food Cooking Competition. We hope that through this competition, professional chefs will be encouraged to make innovative attempts in the selection of ingredients, cooking methods and plating techniques of caring food dishes, so that people with dysphagia can have diversified choices, eat with more dignity, and achieve social inclusion. The goal is to promote the continuous development of different forms of nursing food (such as soft meals and chopped meals) in Hong Kong, so that nursing food can be popularized and applied in daily life.

This year's competition is held in a cross-school format for the first time, providing a platform for industry exchanges and exchanges. At the same time, it adheres to the past goal of cultivating a new generation of chefs to understand food care, and is held in a new cross-school and interdisciplinary cooperation format. .

Thanks again to various institutions and schools for their support, including: (1) Chinese Culinary Institute and International Culinary Institute and (2) Department of Early Childhood, Elderly and Social Services, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Shatin Branch), for inviting their students to serve as in-service The chef's apprentice competes in the finals in a master-apprentice pairing system!
