The Care Food Working Group of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) held a seminar titled "Care Food: Driving the Development of the Silver Hair Industry and Social Services through Cross-Sector Collaboration" last Wednesday (May 21). We were honored to have five experts from diverse fields share their insights and engage in discussions. The distinguished guests included:
- Prof. Au, Kevin Yuk-fai, Associate Professor, Department of Management, CUHK Business School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
- Mr. Au Chi Yeung, Speech Therapy Supervisor, Social Service Department, The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong
- Ms. Chan Pui-shan, Deputy Director, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex
- Prof. Chan, Karen Man Kei, Associate Professor, Swallowing Research Laboratory, Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong
- Mr. Kwong Chung-bun, General Manager (Customer Service | Business Development | Specialty Restaurants), Fairwood Group
During the seminar, Mr. Cheung, the representative of the HKCSS Care Food Working Group, introduced the development landscape of Care Food in Hong Kong and how the working group promotes various initiatives through cross-sector collaboration to advance Care Food. Prof. Au then provided a theoretical analysis of the challenges and related "lock-in" issues in Hong Kong's Care Food development, setting the stage for further discussions. Following this, four experts from the business, social enterprise, academic, and social welfare sectors shared their perspectives on how different stakeholders can collaborate across sectors to enhance products and services related to Care Food, thereby improving the quality of life for individuals with swallowing difficulties and their caregivers.
Cross-sector collaboration enables us to pool the expertise of various stakeholders and amplify our social impact. The Care Food Working Group will continue to connect different sectors, building a sustainable Care Food ecosystem and bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the development of related silver hair industries and social services.
